Unique Network, an NFT-centric blockchain built on Polkadot’s Substrate, has launched the ‘NFT 2.0 Codecraft Grant Fund’ to enhance the development of advanced NFTs. The $250,000 grant fund targets developers, designers and NFT enthusiasts, enticing them to build a new wave of advanced NFTs, focused on customizability and solving real-world problems. Adding to the grant, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced additional rewards, with AWS Activate credits totalling $100,000 set to be disbursed to the grant participants.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are gradually moving from the overhyped stage of JPEGs, offering users and holders enhanced utilities and capabilities. As Alexander Mitrovich, CEO of Unique Network, explained, the space is coming off an age of speculative JPEGs and entering the next stage of advanced NFTs, which offer customizable and utility-driven solutions to holders.
“NFTs have a long way to go. The first wave was driven by speculative jpegs, but it is the powerful NFT utility tools that will lead the Next in NFTs. At Unique Network we already delivered these capabilities in the last year, and now we are seeing deep interest by the most innovative founders. To deliver NFTs 2.0 to end-user communities we have launched this fund with a very specific focus on enhancing NFTs via micro dApps or blockchain features,” stated Mitrovich.
As part of the grant, participants will also gain valuable insights into various types of cutting-edge NFTs supported by Unique Network, including Customizable NFTs, Composable NFTs, Nested NFTs, Dynamic NFTs, Multi-asset NFTs, and Multi-resource NFTs.
The statement also announced the first two grant fund winners, DED Games and Music Moon (formerly LoopNFT). DED Games is a blockchain gaming platform that aims to revolutionize the overall blockchain gaming experience by leveraging advanced and customizable NFTs. Music Moon, a winner of the Polkadot APAC Hackathon and a member of the Polkadot Blockchain Academy, leverages blockchain and advanced NFTs to empower artists to retain control over their work and earnings, independently of major record labels.
Speaking on the grant funding, Joesp Gracés, Founder of Music Moon, stated:
“This grant from Unique Network is not just funding; it’s a catalyst propelling MusicMoon to revolutionize how artists create, share, and monetize their music, ensuring they retain rights and foster direct connections with their audience through blockchain technology.”
