Decentraland’s acclaimed and widely-used play-to-earn (P2E) gaming platform, Decentral Games, has just obtained $1 million worth of MANA tokens from the smart contract platform Decentraland DAO. This is a significant advance forward, and a big achievement for Decentraland and also the Metaverse as a whole since it is among the biggest ecosystem grants Decentraland has ever granted.
Consequently, it is reasonable to argue that Decentraland’s grant is an exceptional example of DAO governance in practice. This grant will sustain the ICE token as Decentral Games prepares to launch its eagerly awaited sit-and-go tournament format. The idea aroused much debate in both communities and was approved by a narrow majority.
The Objective Of The Planned Decentral Games Initiative
Decentral Games evolves and attracts more players. Approximately sixty percent 60% of Decentraland’s weekly active users are venue guests and ICE Poker players. Decentral Games takes up a total of 12 live venues and 1007 land parcels in Decentraland. In addition, it has around 8,000 daily active players as well as 40,000 weekly visitors throughout all areas.
Decentral Games was in need of $1 million worth of MANA to fund the ICE-USDC liquidity pool on decentralized exchange QuickSwap to extend its operations. The MANA payouts will be dispersed over the course of three months to individuals that bet USDC-ICE LP to jumpstart the pool. Notably, this funding will assist Decentral Games while the developing team creates the sit-and-go events, which are scheduled to start in July.
The proposal further said that, once approved, the Decentraland DAO will transmit $1 million in MANA tokens to dgtreasury.eth for distribution to individuals staking the LP. The Decentral Games DAO will therefore not hold any amount of MANA.
In addition, the Decentraland DAO, which allocates MANA tokens to enhance ICE-USDC liquidity, would participate in Decentraland’s DAU. Decentral Games noted in its plan that as a vast number of ICE holders are somehow not MANA holders, this anticipated initiative would assist in introducing ICE holders to the Decentraland DAO.
Introducing Innovative Experiences To Blockchain-Based Gaming
Miles Anthony, CEO of Decentral Games, recently outlined his company’s contribution to the development and upkeep of the Decentraland ecosystem:
“This MANA allocation is a stepping stone to assist in boosting our in-game economy as we prepare to launch ICE Poker Sit-n-Go tournaments, along with other key initiatives that drive organic demand and utility for ICE and solidify our ecosystem’s long-term sustainability.
In addition to providing assistance for the ICE community, Decentral Games highlights the significance of this project as an unequaled attempt in the architecture of the DAO governance paradigm. Decentral Games is a formidable group of gaming technologists; its pioneering P2E (play-to-earn) solutions have introduced a number of new ideas.
