BlockchainReporter’s Ethereum News Today page covers the daily price and network news, and our Ethereum price prediction compares forecasts from banks, analysts and models, with the date each was published so you can judge how current it is.

What is the Glamsterdam upgrade?
Glamsterdam is Ethereum’s next major network upgrade, which combines changes to the execution layer and the consensus layer. Its testnet launch on the Hoodi network, planned for October 26, 2026, was postponed on October 22 for further review. Mainnet activation will follow only after successful testnet runs, so no mainnet date had been set in October 2026.

How much ETH is staked?
A record 43.8 million ETH was staked in October 2026, according to a Bitwise report, about a third of Ether’s supply. Staking yields have fallen as more ETH has been staked.
