Quick Answer: WazirX’s WRX token trades near $0.020 as of October 30, 2026, with a market cap of about $7.6 million (#1,051 on CoinMarketCap) and only about $16,000 in 24-hour trading volume. It is down about 63% since the end of 2025 and about 99.7% below its 2021 all-time high of $5.94. The two models we track see WRX roughly flat at the end of 2026, between about $0.019 (CoinLore) and $0.020 (CoinCodex), and between about $0.019 and $0.031 in 2030. WRX has not been delisted from WazirX or migrated to a new token, but it is no longer traded on Binance and now trades on only a handful of markets.
WazirX, an Indian crypto exchange, lost more than $230 million in a July 2024 cyberattack, according to the company, kept trading suspended for about 15 months and reopened on October 24, 2025 under a scheme of arrangement sanctioned by the High Court of Singapore.
Key Takeaways
- WRX trades about 99.7% below its all-time high of $5.94 (April 5, 2021) and about 115% above its all-time low of $0.0092 (June 5, 2025)
- The token is down about 63% since the end of 2025: it spiked to $0.071 intraday on January 12, hit a 2026 low of $0.013 on August 27 and has traded near $0.02 since September
- Liquidity is very thin: CoinMarketCap counts seven WRX markets and about $16,000 in daily volume, most of it on WazirX itself
- WazirX reopened on October 24, 2025, after a Singapore scheme of arrangement; eligible users received a first distribution of about 85% of approved claims and later Recovery Tokens for possible future recoveries, according to WazirX
- In 2026, WazirX has added products such as futures trading contests and an expert signals feature; its site shows custody by BitGo
- Both models we track put WRX close to today’s price at the end of 2026, and none of their central estimates reaches $0.10 before 2040

WazirX Cyber Attack: What Happened in July 2024
On July 18, 2024, WazirX reported a cyberattack on one of its multisig wallets, which it said had been operated using Liminal’s digital asset custody and wallet infrastructure since February 2023. According to WazirX, digital assets worth more than $230 million were stolen. Its day-wise incident report says withdrawals stopped on July 18, deposits were paused on July 19 and trading on July 21. Rupee (INR) withdrawals resumed in phases from August 26, 2024.
WazirX moved all assets held with Liminal to new multisig wallets on August 14, 2024. On August 19 it said a cybersecurity and investigations firm, which it did not name, had found no evidence that the three laptops used to sign transactions were compromised. We found no court or regulatory ruling on who was responsible for the breach. WazirX also says a police case (FIR) was registered in New Delhi on August 5, 2024, following its complaint.
On January 14, 2025, the governments of the United States, Japan and South Korea issued a joint statement on North Korean crypto thefts. In it, the United States and South Korea attribute the theft against WazirX, put at $235 million, to North Korea, “based on detailed industry analysis.” The statement names North Korea-linked groups such as the Lazarus Group in general terms but does not say which group carried out the WazirX attack.
The Singapore Scheme of Arrangement and Relaunch
Zettai Pte Ltd, WazirX’s Singapore entity, sought a court-supervised moratorium and then a scheme of arrangement in Singapore. The main steps, according to WazirX’s official announcements:
| Date | Step |
|---|---|
| August 28, 2024 | Zettai files for a court-supervised moratorium in Singapore |
| March 2025 | First creditor vote |
| April 7, 2025 | WazirX reports that 93.1% of voting creditors, representing 94.6% in value, voted yes |
| June 4, 2025 | The High Court declines to approve the first version of the scheme |
| July 16, 2025 | The court allows a revote on an amended scheme |
| July 30 to August 6, 2025 | Revote: 95.7% by count and 94.6% by value of approved claims support the amended scheme |
| October 13, 2025 | The High Court of Singapore sanctions the amended scheme |
| October 24, 2025 | WazirX restarts operations |
According to WazirX’s official blog, eligible users received a first distribution of about 85% of their approved claims within 10 business days of the restart, and WazirX says distribution of recoveries is managed through Zanmai India. In January 2026 WazirX said Recovery Tokens (RTs) had been allocated to eligible users within the 60-business-day period set by the scheme, pro rata to approved claims.
RTs represent a share of possible future recoveries, such as illiquid assets, shared surpluses or other recoveries listed in the scheme. WazirX says that in each three-month period in which at least $10 million in unencumbered value is realized, part of it is set aside to buy back RTs. WazirX also says RTs “are not tradable at this stage,” although they may become tradable later, subject to legal and regulatory requirements.
WRX Price History
| Date | Key Level (CoinMarketCap) |
|---|---|
| February 2020 | First tracked by CoinMarketCap |
| April 5, 2021 | All-time high of $5.94 |
| July 18, 2024 | Hack disclosed; trading suspended on WazirX |
| June 5, 2025 | All-time low of $0.0092 |
| December 31, 2025 | Close of about $0.054 |
| January 12, 2026 | 2026 high of $0.071 (intraday) |
| August 27, 2026 | 2026 low of $0.013 |
| October 30, 2026 | About $0.020 |
WRX peaked at $5.94 in April 2021 during the bull market, when WazirX was one of India’s largest exchanges. The token fell through 2022 and 2023, and the July 2024 attack cut both its price and its liquidity. Binance is no longer among the exchanges CoinMarketCap lists for WRX. It hit its all-time low of $0.0092 in June 2025, while WazirX was still closed.
In 2026, WRX briefly jumped to $0.071 on January 12, an intraday move of about 57% from the open, but closed far lower. It ended March at about $0.021, fell to $0.013 on August 27 and recovered to about $0.022 by the end of September. It is down about 11% since then. The price can move sharply on small orders, because the token trades only about $16,000 a day.
What Does WazirX Offer in 2026?
WazirX is a centralized exchange for Indian users, with rupee (INR) deposits and spot trading, and in 2026 it also promotes futures trading. Its official WazirX website and blog list recent features such as:
- Futures trading contests, including a “P&L Arena” announced on October 27, 2026
- Crypto Expert Signals, introduced on October 13, 2026
- Monthly product update posts (the September 2026 update was published on October 7) and deposit bonus promotions
- Institutional custody, with a site badge reading “Institutional Grade Custody By BitGo”; WazirX says it has also integrated Fireblocks technology
What WRX does. WRX is WazirX’s exchange token. Its whitepaper describes uses such as trading fee discounts, trade mining rewards and access to platform features. WRX’s value therefore depends heavily on how many people trade on WazirX. The restructuring did not replace or migrate WRX, and we found no WazirX announcement of a WRX delisting or token swap as of October 30, 2026.
How Does WazirX Compare With CoinSwitch or CoinDCX?
WazirX, CoinSwitch and CoinDCX are all Indian platforms that let users buy crypto with rupees. The main differences are history and structure rather than basic features. WazirX is the only one of the three that issues its own exchange token, WRX, and it is the one whose users went through a 15-month trading suspension, a court-supervised restructuring and a partial distribution, with Recovery Tokens still outstanding. During that freeze, many Indian users moved to other platforms.
When comparing exchanges, check each one’s fees, supported coins, INR deposit and withdrawal options, custody arrangements, and its registration with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND), which Indian rules require of crypto service providers. WRX Price Prediction 2026
| Source (page date) | Low | Average | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinCodex (rest of 2026, page dated October 30; end of 2026 target $0.02007) | $0.01663 | $0.01926 | $0.02144 |
| CoinLore (bear / base / bull, page dated October 30) | $0.0112 | $0.0187 | $0.0605 |
Both models expect little change by the end of the year. CoinCodex’s end of 2026 target of $0.0201 is about 1% above today’s price, and CoinLore’s base case of $0.0187, given in its page text, would be about 6% lower. CoinLore’s bull case of $0.0605 would be about three times today’s price, slightly above the 2025 close.
We could not open Changelly’s WRX forecast page (the request returned an error) and a search did not surface another Changelly WRX forecast, so this update does not use Changelly figures for WRX.
WRX trades about 12% below its 50-day moving average of $0.0226 and about 8% below its 200-day average of $0.0216, with a 14-day RSI of about 39, according to CoinCodex, which rates sentiment as bearish.
WRX Price Prediction 2027 to 2029
| Source | 2027 (central) | 2028 (central) | 2029 (central) |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinLore (base case) | $0.0186 | $0.0218 | $0.0229 |
| CoinLore (bull case) | $0.0905 | $0.1252 | $0.2330 |
CoinCodex does not publish yearly summary rows for WRX after 2026; its monthly path stays close to $0.02. CoinLore’s base case barely moves from today’s price through 2029, while its bull cases rise to $0.23. Both models rely mainly on past prices and volatility, which matters for a token whose price history is dominated by one hack and one exchange delisting.
WRX Price Prediction 2030
| Source | Low | Central | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoinCodex (headline 2030 target) | n/a | $0.01945 | n/a |
| CoinLore (bear / base / bull) | $0.0185 | $0.0308 | $0.1583 |
For 2030, CoinCodex expects about $0.019, about 2% below today’s price, while CoinLore’s base case of $0.031 would be a gain of about 55%. CoinLore’s page headline says WRX “could reach $0.16 by 2030,” but that is its bull case, about eight times today’s price. For 2040, CoinLore gives $0.143 (bear), $0.238 (base) and $0.709 (bull).

What Drives the WRX Price?
- WazirX trading activity: WRX’s uses are tied to the exchange, so user numbers and volume on WazirX matter most
- Recovery progress: further recoveries, RT buybacks or any move to make RTs tradable could change sentiment toward WazirX
- Liquidity: with about $16,000 in daily volume across seven markets, small orders can move the price
- Exchange access: WRX is no longer traded on Binance; it now trades mainly on WazirX, plus Gate, ZebPay, BitKan and two BNB Chain decentralized exchanges
- Indian regulation and tax: India’s crypto tax rules and FIU-IND oversight affect domestic trading volumes
- The wider market: like other small tokens, WRX tends to fall harder than Bitcoin in sell-offs
Can WRX Reach $1?
Not on the central estimates of either model we track; the highest central figure is CoinLore’s 2040 base case of $0.24, and none of the bull cases reaches $1. At today’s circulating supply of about 381.9 million WRX, $1 would mean a market cap of about $382 million, about 50 times today’s. A return to the 2025 close of $0.054 would need a market cap of about $21 million, and the all-time high of $5.94 would need about $2.3 billion.
Key Risks of WRX
- Deep drawdown: WRX trades about 99.7% below its 2021 high and about 85% lower than a year ago
- Very low liquidity: about $16,000 in daily volume makes entering and exiting difficult
- Dependence on one exchange: most WRX volume is on WazirX itself
- Open questions: no court or regulator has publicly ruled on responsibility for the 2024 breach, and further recoveries are uncertain
- Supply: about 381.9 million WRX circulate out of a total supply of about 962.6 million, so more tokens could reach the market
- Model limits: forecasts for a thinly traded token are especially unreliable
How Can I Secure My Account After the WazirX Hack?
The 2024 attack hit an exchange wallet, not individual user passwords, but users who keep funds on any exchange should take basic steps:
- Turn on app-based two-factor authentication and use a unique, strong password
- Use withdrawal address whitelisting where the exchange offers it
- Keep only trading amounts on an exchange and move long-term holdings to a wallet you control; our crypto wallets guide explains the options
- Ignore messages offering help with “claims” or Recovery Tokens; WazirX says RTs are not tradable at this stage, so anyone selling them should be treated as suspicious
- Check announcements only on official WazirX channels; our guide on how to verify crypto news and rumors explains how
How to Buy WRX Safely
WRX trades on WazirX (WRX/INR and WRX/USDT), Gate (WRX/USDT), ZebPay (WRX/INR) and BitKan, and on PancakeSwap and ApeSwap on BNB Smart Chain, according to CoinMarketCap. Check that a market has enough volume before placing an order, and confirm the token contract on BNB Smart Chain or Polygon before any on-chain transfer.
Will WazirX Rise Amid the Ongoing Crisis?
The acute phase of the crisis has passed: WazirX is open, users received most of their approved claims, and Recovery Tokens offer a route to further payouts. But WRX itself has not recovered. It is down about 63% this year, trades thinly and depends on a platform that is rebuilding its user base. For more forecasts, see our crypto price predictions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the WRX price prediction for 2026?
The two models we track see WRX close to its late October price of about $0.020 at the end of 2026. CoinCodex’s end of year target is about $0.0201, while CoinLore’s base case is about $0.0187, with a bear case of $0.0112 and a bull case of $0.0605. Thin trading means the actual price can move far more than these models suggest.
What is the WRX price prediction for 2030?
Central 2030 estimates range from about $0.019 at CoinCodex to $0.031 at CoinLore, which means anything from a small decline to a gain of about 55% from the late October price. CoinLore’s bull case is about $0.16. For 2040, CoinLore’s base case is $0.24. None of the models we track expects WRX to reach $1 or return near its 2021 high.
What happened in the WazirX cyber attack?
On July 18, 2024, WazirX reported that more than $230 million had been stolen from a multisig wallet operated using Liminal’s custody infrastructure, and it halted withdrawals. In January 2025 the United States and South Korea attributed the $235 million theft to North Korea, in a joint statement with Japan. WazirX reopened on October 24, 2025 under a court-sanctioned scheme.
What are WazirX Recovery Tokens?
Recovery Tokens are allocations given to eligible creditors under WazirX’s Singapore scheme, pro rata to approved claims, after a first distribution of about 85%. They represent a share of possible future recoveries. WazirX says that when at least $10 million is realized in a three-month period, part is used to buy back tokens. They are not tradable at this stage, according to WazirX.
Has WRX been delisted or migrated?
WRX has not been migrated to a new token, and we found no WazirX announcement of a WRX delisting as of October 30, 2026. It still trades on WazirX, Gate, ZebPay, BitKan and two BNB Chain exchanges, according to CoinMarketCap. It is no longer traded on Binance. Daily volume is only about $16,000.
What features does WazirX offer?
WazirX offers rupee deposits and spot crypto trading for Indian users, and in 2026 it promotes futures trading, trading contests, a Crypto Expert Signals feature and deposit bonuses. Its website shows custody by BitGo. Holders of its WRX token can use it for trading fee discounts and other platform benefits described in its whitepaper. Check current terms and fees on the official site.
How does WazirX compare to CoinSwitch or CoinDCX?
All three are Indian platforms for buying crypto with rupees. WazirX differs in having its own exchange token, WRX, and in its history: a 2024 attack, a 15-month trading suspension and a court-supervised restructuring with Recovery Tokens still outstanding. Compare fees, supported coins, custody arrangements and FIU-IND registration on each platform before choosing where to trade.
Is it safe to use WazirX after the hack?
WazirX reopened in October 2025 under a court-sanctioned scheme and shows institutional custody by BitGo, but no exchange is risk-free. Turn on two-factor authentication, use withdrawal whitelisting, keep long-term holdings in your own wallet and rely only on official WazirX channels for news about claims. Treat anyone offering to buy or sell Recovery Tokens with suspicion.
