Synthetix (SNX) trades near $0.177 as of November 3, 2026, with a market cap of about $61 million (#317 on CoinMarketCap). It is down about 58% since the end of 2025 and more than 99% below its February 2021 all-time high of $28.77.
Cryptocurrencies opened new doors in finance, and decentralized finance (DeFi) has become one of the busiest parts of the Web3 world. Alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum and other large coins, DeFi protocols such as Synthetix have tried to bring traditional markets on-chain.
SNX is the native token of Synthetix, a DeFi protocol built on Ethereum. It was hit hard in 2022 by the LUNA crash and the collapse of FTX, and it has fallen much further since.
This update covers what Synthetix does today, how our earlier forecasts compare with what happened, and the latest third-party forecasts.
Synthetix (SNX): A Quick Introduction
Synthetix is a blockchain protocol built on Ethereum that gives users exposure to crypto and non-crypto assets, such as indices and commodities, through smart contracts. SNX is its native token, an ERC20 token compatible with Ethereum wallets.
SNX has been used as collateral within the network, and holders have been able to stake it to earn staking rewards. In 2026, the protocol’s focus is a perpetual futures exchange on Ethereum mainnet.
Synthetix launched in the crypto market in September 2017 under the name Havven (HAV), founded by Kain Warwick. It rebranded to Synthetix a year later. As the name suggests, it lets users trade synthetic assets, tokenized versions of assets ranging from cryptocurrencies to fiat currencies and commodities. Here are SNX’s current market details as of November 3, 2026.

SNX: Fundamental Analysis And Roadmap
Synthetix built its reputation on Synths, tokens that track non-blockchain assets. These let investors gain exposure to market sectors and commodities they could not easily access before, which helped Synthetix become one of the early DeFi leaders.
The whitepaper states, “the Synthetix ecosystem has created a peer-to-peer payment network and price-stable token that does not rely on a central authority to maintain trust. Programmable blockchains allow the logic of a payment network to be decentralized in a transparent way, enabling anyone to verify whether the network is solvent. This eliminates systemic risk and reduces the costs associated with centralized networks.”
Synthetix has long built on Ethereum and its layer 2 networks. Its 2026 roadmap focuses on a perpetual futures exchange on Ethereum mainnet, with multi-collateral margin, basis trade vaults and new markets such as commodities and forex planned for 2026.
The protocol has also faced problems. Its sUSD stablecoin lost its dollar peg in 2025, and South Korean exchanges Upbit and Bithumb suspended SNX deposits over the risks, Cointelegraph reported. Under the 2026 roadmap, trading revenue is split between SNX and sUSD buybacks until the sUSD peg is restored, then goes to SNX only.
SNX is listed on major exchanges such as Coinbase and Binance, and its smart contracts remain widely used across DeFi. Despite this, the SNX price has kept falling in 2026.
SNX Price Prediction: Price History
SNX’s price history shows how volatile the token has been. Past prices do not guarantee future performance.
SNX began crypto trading at about $0.46 on March 15, 2018. It reached about $0.69 on May 22, 2018, then fell to about $0.08 by September. It traded mostly between $0.04 and $0.06 until mid-2019, set its all-time low of $0.03258 on January 5, 2019, and broke above $1 for the first time in November 2019.
SNX rose to about $7.30 on September 1, 2020, then fell to about $2.70 in November. In the 2021 bull market, it set its all-time high of $28.77 on February 14, 2021, according to CoinMarketCap.
It dropped to about $14 in April and about $6 in June 2021, rallied to between $10 and $14 in August, and ended 2021 below $5.
In 2022, SNX fell to about $1.55 in June and lost about 40% after the FTX collapse in November. It recovered for a time in later years but fell again, ending 2025 at about $0.42, according to CoinGecko. It has lost about 58% since then, to about $0.177.
SNX Price Prediction: Technical Analysis
When this article was first written in December 2022, SNX traded near $1.50. Nearly four years later, it trades about 88% lower, at about $0.177, despite the protocol’s move into perpetual futures.
According to CoinMarketCap, SNX trades at about $0.177, with about $5.4 million in 24-hour trading volume. It has lost about 31% over the past 30 days and about 81% over the past year, according to CoinGecko.
CoinCodex puts SNX about 22% below its 50-day moving average of about $0.226 and about 28% below its 200-day average of about $0.245. Its 14-day RSI of about 29 is close to oversold, which can come before short bounces but does not signal a trend change on its own.
The aftermath of FTX’s collapse in 2022 began SNX’s long decline, and sentiment has not recovered since.
The 50-day average near $0.226 is the first resistance level to watch, followed by the 200-day average near $0.245. On the downside, there is little recent support below today’s price. These are observed chart levels, not forecasts.

SNX Price Prediction 2026
Our earlier 2026 forecast of $6.44 to $7.71 is about 40 times today’s price, so we no longer use it. CoinCodex, checked on November 3, 2026, expects a December 2026 average of about $0.161 and an end-of-year target of about $0.157, both below today’s price.
SNX Price Prediction 2027

SNX Price Prediction: Industry Experts
In late 2022, Digital Coin Price expected SNX to pass $3.30 in 2023 and to trade above $14.46 in 2029. Today’s price is far below those levels, and we could not verify a current version of that forecast.
Trading Beasts forecast the Synthetix Network token at about $1.43 to $2.11 in January 2023 and about $2.15 to $3.16 later in 2023. Those short-term figures were broadly in line with 2023 prices, but they no longer reflect SNX’s current level.
Is SNX A Good Investment? When Should You Buy?
Synthetix was one of the first protocols to bring non-blockchain assets on-chain, and it remains an active Web3 project with a 2026 roadmap built around perpetual futures. Its revenue-sharing plan for SNX buybacks could support demand if trading volumes grow.
However, our 2022 suggestion to buy near $1.30 has not worked out: SNX trades about 86% below that level today, and current models see further declines. Further losses are possible, so do your own research and compare platforms in our guide to the best crypto exchanges before buying.
Conclusion
Synthetix pioneered synthetic assets pegged to the value of real-world assets, and it is now rebuilding around a perpetual futures exchange. Its future price will depend on whether that product attracts traders and whether the sUSD peg is restored.
Our earlier forecasts were far too optimistic, and current third-party models see SNX lower through 2030. Do your own research before investing in a volatile asset, and see our crypto market today page and crypto price predictions for wider context.
