Blockchain infrastructure firm Startale Group has begun rolling out its new virtual payment card after attracting more than 300,000 waitlist reservations, marking an expansion of its consumer financial services beyond onchain asset management and trading.
The Startale Card enables eligible users to spend USDSC at more than 150 million merchant locations globally, bringing everyday payment functionality directly into the Startale App. The initial rollout targets eligible early contributors, with additional access being granted to waitlisted users in priority order throughout November.
The card is issued by Rain, a Visa principal member that provides stablecoin payment infrastructure. Through the integration, users can transfer USDSC to their virtual card and spend it at supported merchants without needing to move their assets through a bank account or cryptocurrency exchange first.
Startale is also introducing a cashback feature that rewards users in USDSC, with the funds credited directly to their accounts. To access the card, eligible users must complete identity verification and activate it through the dedicated Card tab within the Startale App.
The launch forms part of Startale’s effort to develop a broader onchain financial platform that combines asset management, earning opportunities and payments within a single application.
While the Startale App already supports token swaps, digital asset holdings and earning services, the addition of a payment card introduces another use case for users looking to put their cryptocurrency holdings to work outside the blockchain ecosystem.
Startale CEO Sota Watanabe described the company’s long-term objective as bringing saving, earning and spending together into a unified financial experience.
For users still awaiting access, Startale has introduced a referral initiative called Card Chase. The campaign allows participants to move higher in the waitlist by inviting friends to the application, with completed referral Quests improving their queue position.
The card rollout comes as Startale continues building financial and blockchain infrastructure across multiple initiatives. The company co-develops Soneium with Sony Group and is working on Strium through SBI Holdings, a platform designed to support round-the-clock trading of tokenized securities.
Startale’s wider ecosystem also includes its USDSC and JPYSC stablecoin initiatives, alongside the Startale App, which serves as a consumer-facing gateway to its onchain services.
The company has clarified that Startale Card operates independently from its other financial products, including yield services, swaps and USDSC balances, with separate terms applying to those offerings.
By bringing stablecoin spending into its existing application, Startale is seeking to extend the role of onchain assets from digital investment and financial management into regular consumer transactions.
