Quick Answer: The Graph (GRT) trades near $0.0221 as of October 28, 2026, with a market cap of about $244 million (#118 on CoinMarketCap). It is down about 33% since the end of 2025 and about 99.2% below its all-time high of $2.88 from February 2021, but about 70% above the 2026 low of $0.0130 it hit on August 18. Central estimates from the two models we track put GRT between about $0.0106 (CoinLore) and $0.0207 (CoinCodex) at the end of 2026, both below today’s price, and between about $0.0110 (CoinCodex) and $0.0353 (CoinLore) in 2030.
The Graph is a decentralized protocol that indexes blockchain data so that applications can query it, and GRT is the token its operators stake and earn. In December 2025, The Graph completed its Horizon upgrade, which turns the protocol into a platform for several data services. In 2026, The Graph Foundation began operating core network services itself, started receiving 20% of new GRT issuance under a proposal approved by The Graph Council and began moving Subgraph Studio query traffic onto the decentralized network.
This update covers the current GRT price, The Graph’s main 2026 developments, GRT supply and issuance, the latest The Graph price predictions for 2026 to 2030 and 2040, and what it would take for GRT to reach $0.1 or $1.
Key Takeaways
- GRT trades about 99.2% below its all-time high of $2.88, set on February 12, 2021, and about 70% above its 2026 low of $0.0130 from August 18, close to the all-time low of $0.01298 that CoinGecko lists
- The token is down about 33% since the end of 2025: it peaked at $0.0447 on January 9, fell about 71% to its August low, rose about 79% in September and lost about 23% in October through October 27
- Graph Horizon, which turns The Graph into a platform for multiple data services, went into production in December 2025, according to a January 2026 update from Edge & Node
- The Graph Foundation moved to “operating the network directly” in 2026, in its own words: under GIP-0089, which The Graph Council approved, 20% of new GRT issuance has funded its Innovation Allocation since around September 1, and it set October 8 as the date for moving the first Subgraph Studio query traffic onto the decentralized network
- GRT has no maximum supply: its total supply has grown about 16.8% since launch, to about 11.68 billion, with issuance targeted at 3% a year and about 1% of supply burned each year, according to The Graph’s documentation
- Central estimates from CoinCodex and CoinLore put GRT between about $0.0106 and $0.0207 at the end of 2026, both below today’s price, and between about $0.0110 and $0.0353 in 2030

Sources: CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko. CoinMarketCap’s all-time low field shows $0 on December 17, 2020, its first day of tracking GRT, so we use CoinGecko’s figure. CoinGecko counts about 10.94 billion GRT in circulation out of a total of about 11.61 billion, ranks GRT #157 and lists an all-time high of $2.84. This article measures the year-to-date change from the December 31, 2025 close; CoinMarketCap’s own figure starts from the January 1 close and shows a decline of about 38%. The fully diluted value uses the total supply, since GRT has no maximum.
What Is The Graph (GRT)?
The Graph is a decentralized indexing protocol for blockchain data. Developers build subgraphs, which The Graph describes as “custom, open APIs that extract and process blockchain data so it can be queried easily via GraphQL,” and independent operators called Indexers process the data and answer queries. Substreams, which The Graph calls “a parallel blockchain indexing technology,” streams processed data into databases such as PostgreSQL or ClickHouse. According to The Graph Foundation, the network had served more than 1.27 trillion queries to over 75,000 projects as of early 2026, has more than 15,000 subgraphs published and covers more than 60 networks.
GRT is the network’s work token. Indexers stake it to serve data and earn query fees and indexing rewards, with a minimum self-stake of 100,000 GRT; Delegators lend their GRT to Indexers; and Curators signal which subgraphs are worth indexing. GRT exists as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and on Arbitrum One, the network where the Horizon contracts were deployed. More background is available on the official The Graph website.
The Graph News: What Has Happened in 2026
Horizon goes live. On December 2, 2025, The Graph Foundation said the Horizon upgrade, designed to “transform The Graph into a modular platform for any type of blockchain data service,” would launch on mainnet the following week. In its January 16 update on The Graph’s forum, Edge & Node reported a “successful production deployment of Graph Horizon” in December, with more than 95% of query volume and Indexer stake migrated. Horizon adds a shared staking layer and a single payment system for all data services; the Foundation named real-time data streams, token and NFT APIs and Amp, an analytics product, among the services it can support.
A new role for the Foundation. On August 19, The Graph Foundation published a new mandate under which it shifts from coordinating and underwriting the work of other teams to “directly building, maintaining, and scaling The Graph Network and protocol,” with a focus on DeFi, institutional and enterprise users, and AI and agent applications. To pay for it, a Foundation proposal, GIP-0089, redirects 20% of protocol issuance, 24.146 of the 120.73 GRT minted per block, to an Innovation Allocation within the Foundation’s treasury. The Graph Council approved the proposal, according to an August 26 forum post, which says total issuance is unchanged, that the allocation starts on Monday, August 31, and that GIP-0089 takes effect on September 1. The Foundation’s October 1 quarterly review says it now operates the Subgraph Gateway, Subgraph Studio and Graph Explorer, and that engineers from Edge & Node and GraphOps are joining it.
Rewards tied to service. On August 25, the Foundation said its Rewards Eligibility Oracle “is running now.” Indexers qualify for indexing rewards only if they serve qualifying queries on at least five days in a rolling 28-day window, and a first tightening announced on September 22 requires them to index at least five qualifying subgraphs on each active day, according to the Foundation’s October review. The Foundation says that in 2025, “15.2% of indexing rewards went to Indexers that were not delivering value to the network.” When the oracle’s dashboard was first published in August, 49 of the 97 Indexers it listed were eligible.
Studio traffic moves to the network. On September 24, the Foundation said queries served through Subgraph Studio’s staging environment would move to the decentralized network, where Indexers are paid query fees, starting with subgraphs on BNB Smart Chain and Polygon on October 8, with other chains likely to follow soon after. Three days later, on September 27, GRT rose about 31% on its highest trading volume of 2026, about $97.5 million, before falling about 16% the next day.
Liquid staking. The Foundation’s October review also describes a GRT liquid staking program in which staked GRT becomes stGRT, through a vault built by Avantgarde Finance on Enzyme and managed by the Foundation. The first phase is a soft launch for existing holders, with a wider rollout to Delegators expected “in the coming weeks.”
Reported data and ETFs. The October review does not report query fee totals or the amount of GRT staked. We found no registration filing for an exchange-traded fund dedicated to GRT on SEC EDGAR.
GRT Supply, Issuance and Burns
GRT launched with a supply of 10 billion tokens and has no maximum supply. The Graph’s documentation sets “a target of 3% new issuance annually” to reward Indexers and says “approximately 1% of the GRT supply is burned annually” through network activity: a 1% tax on curation, a 1% burn on query fees, a 0.5% delegation tax and half of any slashed amount. According to the GIP-0089 approval post, the protocol mints 120.73 GRT per block.
The net result shows in the supply data. CoinMarketCap counts a total supply of about 11.68 billion GRT, about 16.8% more than at launch, which works out to about 2.7% a year since December 2020. About 11.03 billion GRT, or 94.5% of the total, circulates. CoinMarketCap also tracks about 642 million GRT still locked, with the next release, about 12.84 million GRT from the Foundation’s allocation, due on November 17.

GRT Price Prediction 2040
Long-range forecasts are highly speculative. CoinCodex projects about $0.0369 by 2040, the bottom of its December 2040 range and about 1.7 times today’s price, and about $0.11 by 2050. CoinLore gives a base case of $0.2811 and a bull case of $0.8173 for 2040; its text rounds the bull case to $0.81 in one place and $0.82 in another.
What Drives the GRT Price?
- Paid network use: the Foundation is moving Subgraph Studio traffic onto the network, where Indexers earn query fees, starting with BNB Smart Chain and Polygon, but it has not published query fee totals in its latest review.
- Supply: new GRT is issued every block with a 3% annual target, while burns take about 1% a year, according to The Graph’s documentation, and the total supply is about 16.8% higher than at launch.
- The Foundation’s execution: 20% of issuance now funds the Foundation’s own work on network operations, chain integrations and a planned agent product.
- Liquidity: GRT’s 24-hour volume of about $12.5 million is about 60% of its 2026 daily average.
- The wider market: like most altcoins, GRT tends to move with Bitcoin and overall risk appetite, as on February 5, when GRT fell 15% and Bitcoin about 14%. Our Bitcoin price prediction covers the market leader.
Can GRT Reach $0.1 or $1?
Not on the central estimates of either model until the mid-2030s. CoinLore’s base case first passes $0.1 in 2035 ($0.1224) and peaks at $0.2811 in 2040, while CoinCodex’s figures reach about $0.11 only by 2050. CoinLore’s bull cases pass $0.1 from 2028 and $0.5 from 2036, and none of the models we use reaches $1: the highest figure is CoinLore’s 2040 bull case of $0.8173. With about 11.03 billion GRT in circulation, each price level implies a market cap that can be compared with other coins.
| GRT Price | Market Cap Needed | Multiple of Today’s Price | For Comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| $0.05 | About $551M | About 2.3x | Between Artificial Superintelligence Alliance ($430M) and Filecoin ($742M) today |
| $0.1 | About $1.10B | About 4.5x | Between Render ($861M) and Arbitrum ($1.13B) today |
| $0.517 | About $5.70B | About 23x | GRT’s peak market cap (November 2021); between Litecoin ($4.51B) and Stellar ($5.96B) today |
| $1 | About $11.0B | About 45x | Between Chainlink ($8.62B) and Dogecoin ($13.6B) today |
| $2.88 (ATH) | About $31.7B | About 130x | Just above TRON ($31.5B) today |
GRT’s peak market cap of about $5.7 billion came when CoinMarketCap counted about 4.7 billion GRT in circulation, less than half of today’s 11.03 billion, so the same market cap would now mean a price of about $0.52 rather than $1.21. At $1, GRT’s market cap would be almost twice that peak, and its fully diluted value about $11.7 billion. Because new GRT is issued every block, a higher price would need demand to grow faster than supply: more paid queries, new data services built on Horizon and a strong altcoin market. Our Render price prediction covers another token often grouped with AI and data infrastructure projects.
Key Risks of GRT
- Deep drawdown: GRT trades about 99.2% below its 2021 high, about 95% below its March 2024 high and about 66% lower than a year ago
- Growing supply: GRT has no maximum supply, and the total has grown about 16.8% since launch
- More roles in one organization: according to its October review, the Foundation now runs the Subgraph Gateway, Subgraph Studio and Graph Explorer, and under GIP-0089 it receives 20% of new issuance, with The Graph Council retaining oversight
- Limited fee data: the Foundation’s October review gives query and project counts but no query fee totals
- Volatility: GRT rose about 31% on September 27, fell about 16% the next day and has lost about 39% since its September 27 high
- Data gaps: CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko disagree on circulation (about 11.03 billion vs 10.94 billion), rank (#118 vs #157) and the all-time high ($2.88 vs $2.84), and CoinMarketCap shows an all-time low of $0
- Model limits: both models extrapolate past prices, and their central 2026 estimates range from a fall of about 52% to a fall of about 6%
Where to Buy GRT
GRT has spot markets on major exchanges including Binance (GRT/USDT, GRT/USDC and GRT/TRY), Coinbase (GRT/USD and GRT/EUR), Kraken (GRT/USD, GRT/EUR and GRT/GBP), OKX, Bybit, KuCoin, Crypto.com, Bitstamp by Robinhood and Bitvavo, and on Upbit and Bithumb in South Korea (GRT/KRW), according to CoinMarketCap’s market data on October 28. We found no 2026 notice delisting GRT, or adding a monitoring or warning tag to it, on Binance or Bithumb, although Binance removed some GRT trading pairs in 2026, including GRT/ETH and GRT/BTC. Is The Graph (GRT) a Good Investment?
That depends on your view of The Graph’s data business, whether network use turns into lasting demand for GRT and your tolerance for risk. The bull case rests on the completed Horizon upgrade, more than 1.27 trillion queries served, the move of Subgraph Studio traffic onto the paid network, a Foundation that now runs core network services directly and listings on Binance, Coinbase, Kraken and Upbit. The bear case is that GRT trades about 99.2% below its high, set a new low in August 2026 and has a supply that keeps growing, and that both central 2026 estimates we track are below today’s price.
Further losses are possible. Paid query volume after the Studio migration, the Foundation’s spending and new products, staking changes and the wider altcoin market are the main known factors that could affect GRT over the next year. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the GRT price prediction for 2026 and the next five years?
Central estimates from the two models we track put GRT between about $0.0106 (CoinLore) and $0.0207 (CoinCodex) at the end of 2026, both below the late October price of about $0.0221. For 2030, CoinCodex expects about $0.0110, roughly half today’s price, while CoinLore’s base case is $0.0353, about 60% higher. CoinLore’s bull case for 2030 is about $0.18.
What is The Graph price prediction for 2030?
The central estimates point in opposite directions. CoinCodex expects a December 2030 average of about $0.0110, about 50% below the late October price, with a headline target of $0.0115. CoinLore’s base case is $0.0353, a gain of about 60%, with a bear case of $0.0212 and a bull case of $0.18. By 2040, central estimates range from about $0.037 to $0.28.
Can GRT reach $1?
Not on any model we track: CoinLore’s highest bull case is about $0.82 for 2040, and CoinCodex expects about $0.11 by 2050. With about 11.03 billion GRT in circulation, $1 would mean a market cap of about $11 billion, roughly 45 times today’s and almost twice GRT’s November 2021 peak. Getting there would take far more paid network use and a strong altcoin market.
What is The Graph and what is GRT used for?
The Graph is a decentralized protocol that indexes blockchain data so applications can query it through open APIs called subgraphs, and it also offers Substreams data streams. GRT is the network’s work token: Indexers stake it to serve data and earn query fees and rewards, Delegators lend it to Indexers, and Curators use it to signal which subgraphs are worth indexing.
How many GRT tokens are there?
CoinMarketCap counts about 11.68 billion GRT in total and about 11.03 billion in circulation. GRT has no maximum supply: it launched with 10 billion tokens, and The Graph’s documentation targets 3% new issuance a year, while about 1% of the supply is burned each year through network fees and taxes. Since around September 1, 20% of new issuance has gone to the Foundation’s Innovation Allocation.
Is The Graph (GRT) a good investment?
That depends on your risk tolerance and your view of The Graph’s business. Supporters point to the completed Horizon upgrade, more than 1.27 trillion queries served and the move of Subgraph Studio traffic onto the paid network. Critics point to a 99.2% fall from the 2021 high, a new low in August 2026, a growing supply and 2026 forecasts below today’s price.
Where can I buy GRT?
GRT trades on major exchanges including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, Bybit and KuCoin, and on Upbit and Bithumb in South Korea, according to CoinMarketCap’s market data. Availability depends on your country, so check each platform’s supported assets before buying. GRT exists on Ethereum and Arbitrum One, among other networks, so confirm which network an exchange uses before withdrawing.
